Meet Renella Roberts Frugé
MBA in Healthcare Management

A High Achiever

The card from AIU Dunwoody came addressed to her son, but Renella Roberts Frugé crossed his name out, wrote hers in, and mailed it back. A few days later, an AIU Admission Representative called and invited her to an open house. It didn't take long for Renella to see American InterContinental University was the school for her. She enrolled that night in the MBA degree program with a concentration in Healthcare Management.

"You know how sometimes you just know something is right? Well, that was what I felt as soon as I started walking around the school and talking to the people there. Everyone at the school was warm and friendly and the schedule was so flexible. At the other schools I had looked at, you couldn't move from part-time to full-time student or from full-time to part-time. At AIU, it didn't matter. They were so flexible, and that was what I needed."

A nurse since 1984-she has an Associate's degree and Bachelor's degree in Nursing-Renella always wanted an MBA. "It was a goal in my life. It was something I always wanted to achieve and I'm an achiever so I got it done."

Although she has yet to use her new MBA to get a new job, Renella has been given more managerial and administrative responsibilities in her present one as a physiatry pre-op nurse. "My bosses have given me opportunities to do more writing and other administrative stuff. I am slowly looking for another position, but I love what I do now so much, I want to make sure I'm very careful about where I go."

Interestingly enough, where Renella might end up going is back to school yet again. "My goal was always to get a Master's degree, but some of the professors at AIU were so motivating, they have me thinking about more now. We'll see."

And for those of you wondering whatever happened to Renella's son who received the AIU card: he's now a second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. Her other son, whom she turned on to AIU, has only one more class to go before he finishes up his MBA (with a concentration in Marketing) at AIU Buckhead.
